I have been thinking about this... and it might make an interesting, instantly recognizable environment for The Ship. All needs can be fulfilled. Plus what other game can send you to prison... IN PRISON? :D

I do have one concern, The Ship has always been an up-beat game and so was Fawlty Towers, so it was no real issue.
A prison is much more serious, can it take this step?

I just wanted to hear your opinion on this because if valid points are raised I won't go ahead with it.
Better to do that now than 50+ hours into development!!! ;)

If nobody (including Outerlight) is not yet working on the Airship idea and Alcatraz won't really work, I would pick that up, that oughta be a blast too!

Thinking it through a bit more... I think I'll step away from this idea, it's not that it's bad...it's just not really great either.
Plus it's been done enough in the past I feel, even in games I found out, thanks to Wikipedia.

Well elaborate on your idea a bit more... how could you get sent to prison while in prison? I guess prison could be solitary confinement, or back in your very own cell, that would be cool. But you would have to script it that everyone is wearing prison clothes. Explain more how you would make it interesting and I'll give you the thumbs up. It sounds cool, but would it actually be fun?

Even if this is a common idea, I find it quite an interesting attempt for those willing to do it.

I'm now under-construction on The Hindenburg, so after that, who knows I might go ahead with this.

The big hurdle to me is this map would take over a hundred hours (Hindenburg will take less for sure) and that's quite an undertaking for a potentially not-so-good environment.

I must stress this would be an accurate depiction of it, I would've used the film "Escape From Alcatraz" as my main reference. But as said, currently this idea is free for anyone to pick up :)

Well, you never know, I wouldn't have ever thought of an Airship I think, but due to it being discussed on here I'm now constructing it :)

yeah or like on rafuci maru it can be the prison and there could be a boat going in and out it could be san francisco bay !!!! or where ever alcatraz is ???:confused:
