I've probably played over 30 hours of The Ship now, and although I can name a bunch of maps I don't actually know which is which.

Unlike other Source games like Counter-Strike, it's not obvious just by looking at the map what it's name should be. For example, CS has office and chateau which are very obviously an office and a chateau.

I think the reason I can't remember the names of any of the The Ship's maps is that the name isn't written anywhere on board and there's nothing to remind you what the ship is called.

The ships name could easily be added to the bottom of a couple of signs and there could be something more interesting to make it more memorable, like a picture of a Cyclops on the map by the same name (poor example I know!)

And isn't Cotopaxi a mountain? Don't ask me where but that would be a very easy reminder to add.

The Cotopaxi was named after a supervolcano. And the SS Cotopaxi was a tramp steamer lost under mysterious circumstances in 1925. People now connect it with the bermuda triangle. I have no problem remembering the names of the ships, so I don't know what to say.

The names of the ships are on the liferings or bells (on most of the maps) but I appreciate this isn't very obvious. Yeah we could add more stuff with the individual names of the maps on it.

Also, I believe in Cotopaxi if you visit the museum there is a miniature of it, with a description.

No, according to the plaque that is a model of the Cotopaxi's sister ship the Mauna Loa. Also named after a volcano.

They call it the Andrea Moria because it looks nothing like the: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/secrets/case_andreadoria/images/andreadoria_home_01.jpg
